It occurs in Alentejo, in pseudo-steppe area, with special emphasis on the Castro Verde region that concentrates the majority of the national population.

Phenology

Mainly sedentary species, but part of the population makes short migrations and some individuals perform dispersive movements.

Habitat

It occurs mainly in open plains with extensive dry crops, fallows, “montados” and olive groves. The main centers are in Castro Verde, Campo Maior and Vila Fernando.
