Summary

It occurs mainly in the Algarve, Alentejo and Beira Interior, but also occurs in Trás-os-Montes and in International Douro. The individuals present are from C. c. cooki subspecies. The conservation status is Least Concern.

Mainly sedentary species, but some individuals perform dispersive movements.

Habitat

It occurs mainly in open forests of pines, oaks, holm oaks and cork trees. But also in scrub with scattered trees, orange and olive groves, gardens and riverside forests and trees along the roads in pseudo-steppe areas.
