Description
This area is located in the autonomous region of Extremadura in Spain, and includes mostly plains (pseudo-steppe zones).In the area there are the following habitats: farms with extensive cereal crops, streams with riparian forests, reservoirs, Mediterranean scrubs, and forests (dehesas).
Ornithological importance
This area is important due to the steppe birds community, especially the Great Bustard (Otis tarda), Little Bustard (Tetrax tetrax), Eurasian Thick-knee (Burhinus oedicnemus), Calandra Lark (Melanocorypha calandra), European Roller (Coracias garrulus), Pin-tailed Sandgrouse (Pterocles alchata), Black-bellied Sandgrouse (Pterocles orientalis), Cinereous Vulture (Aegypius monachus), Spanish Imperial Eagle (Aquila adalberti), Montagu's Harrier (Circus pygargus), and Lesser Kestrel (Falco naumanni).Geographic information
