This area includes 2 permanent lagoons fed by the Estorãos stream and adjacent areas on the north bank of the Lima river. In the area there are the following habitats: lagoons, streams, wet meadows, forest and farms.
In the forests the oak, alder, willow, birch and pine predominates.

Ornithological importance

In this area there is a record of 91 species, highlighting the Common Quail (Coturnix coturnix), Barn Owl (Tyto alba), Tawny Owl (Strix aluco), Eurasian Bullfinch (Pyrrhula pyrrhula), Yellowhammer (Emberiza citrinella), Cirl Bunting (Emberiza cirlus), Firecrest (Regulus ignicapilla), Bonelli's Warbler (Phylloscopus bonelli), Eurasian Nightjar (Caprimulgus europaeus), Eurasian Hobby (Falco subbuteo), Orphean Warbler (Sylvia hortensis), Fieldfare (Turdus pilaris), and Redwing (Turdus iliacus).
