Description

This area is located in the north of mainland Spain, in the Cantabrian mountain range.
In the area there are the following habitats: mountains, valleys, freshwater lakes, streams, riparian forest, heaths and deciduous forests.

Ornithological importance

In this area there is a record of the Western Capercaillie (Tetrao urogallus), Grey Partridge (Perdix perdix), Black Woodpecker (Dryocopus martius), Red-billed Chough (Pyrrhocorax pyrrhocorax) and Middle Spotted Woodpecker (Dendrocopos medius).
