Description
This area is located in the autonomous region of Andalusia in Spain and comprises a set of coastal lagoons.In the area there are the following habitats: coastal lagoons, dunes with juniper groves and pine forests, meadows, temporary ponds, wet heathland, and farms.
Ornithological importance
In this area occur breeding species with an unfavorable conservation status, such as White-headed Duck (Oxyura leucocephala), Squacco Heron (Ardeola ralloides), and Red-knobbed Coot (Fulica cristata). Highlight also for the occurrence of the Red-crested Pochard (Netta rufina), Ferruginous Duck (Aythya nyroca), Purple Heron (Ardea purpurea), Purple Swamphen (Porphyrio porphyrio), Collared Pratincole (Glareola pratincola), and Whiskered Tern (Chlidonias hybrida).Geographic information
